They can be picked green if need be, but their best flavor and most vitamins occur in the final days of ripening, when the peppers abruptly turn from deep green to bright orange.This plant is stocky and well-branched, and will appreciate a bit of support to hold up its big bounty of peppers. Expect it to reach about 2 feet high and nearly as wide, and to continue growing and producing all summer long.
